Shingle and Gravel

There is a difference between gravel and shingle, believe it or not. Gravel, by definition, is small fragments of rock used for laying on roads or as ballast. Whereas shingle is a collection of small stones with one end typically thicker than the other. However, both can be used for a variety of landscaping projects such as paths, patio borders, driveways etc.

Using gravel or shingle is a quick and easy way to spruce up these areas and with a membrane underneath your gravel driveway or path weeds will be kept at bay whilst allowing natural elements to permeate through to the soil beneath. It also helps to keep your gravel clean by creating a barrier.
